Count down to holiday

Only 4 weeks till my holiday. Looking foward to a long break after a year of hard work. We work hard all year only to get 4 weeks of holiday. Is it worth working that hard all year only to be told that there will be no pay rise and a modest bonus. Maybe I should be grateful that I still have a job. I have to wait to confirm this Friday if I still have my job. There are quite substantial job cuts in my company. There has been plenty of communications and warnings that this was going to happen, but until it happened today it was hard to imagine. The morale was down as everyone was trying to speculate who is going and what is going to remain of the project if all the contractors are gone. With the current economic times, it will be difficult for people to get another job. Also with Xmas just around the corner and all the expenses still continuing to increase, how will some people cope. Still I am counting down to my holidays, spending time at central coast, cronulla, up at Noosa. Lots of sand, water and sunshine. Let's see what happens this Friday...

To Blog or not to Blog

You have to be really disciplined to keep a blog up to date and make it interesting for others to read. Or it could just be a journal for one to look back on. But now that summer is here, why do I want to stay indoors in front of the PC and blog. But then I see so many people spend hours over facebook when they could be catching up with their friends the old fashioned way. Having a conversation over the old fashioned home telephone. Or catching up with friends in person. People are too time poor to stop and remember to do the things that they used to enjoy. Making time to catch up with friends and family. We barely have time to stop and enjoy life. Or rather most people are living life through the internet. Watching or reading about what others have done. I am so looking forward to my xmas holiday and time off to unwind from 2008.

By the way don't forget to do your tax return if you haven't already done it. Its due this week.

Mona in Black

Now all that remains is the black pieces missing. I am really starting to suspect that there are pieces missing. Wish there was a quicker way to complete this. I want my dining table back. We had some friends over and we had to bring the outside table inside just so we can have a meal on a table.

Mona Forming

had taken some photos with the intention of posting it. But as everyone knows, once you take all those wonderful digital photos. No one ever looks at them again. I wonder how many people actually prints them. We made some good progress.

Huge cruise ship

This is one me my favourite cruise ships. I prefer the modern big ships. You can see the small sydney ferry on the left and one me the large ferry on the right. Just to the left of the large ferry is the matilda catamaran. This puts things in perspective. Bad photo, this was taken under cover to avoid the rain.

Mona in pieces

Due to Tina's influence, we resurrected our Mona Lisa. She was sitting under the couch looking really sad. We made some good progress tonight, we completed the top section near her head. The majority of the 1000 piece puzzle is black. Hopefully we havent lost any to the vacuum cleaner.

Insomnia

Tina's insomnia is catching. I think my is more exhaustion from work this week. 2 nights in a row I went to sleep early. Came home from work and could barely stay awake after dinner. Can't wait for this weekend to come. 1 more day. We have an appointment with our fav dentist Anna. Usually people hate visiting their dentist, but Anna is a great dentist. She is also a good friend of mine, so it is always good to catch up over lunch afterwards. So if you need a good dentist go see Anna in Bondi Junction. Highly recommend her.

Bike ride in Homebush

We finally took the bike for a spin. Last time we went to Homebush and followed the bike tracks. This time we rode all the way from Parramatta to Homebush. There is a bike track following the M4 leading all the way to Homebush Olympic site. It's a nice easy ride and dedicated bike track so you don't have to worry about the cars. We rode all the way to the top of this hill. Can't wait to do this again next time. Gotta get fit again, ate too much easter eggs, and still eating them.

Kmart 100pcs Wardrobe organiser sale

Kmart is having a sale for the 100 pcs wardrobe organiser. It comes with plenty of coat hangers and 4 of the pants style hangers. See the picture for yourself. For those that like a bargain. This is a bargain. Originally $80, reduced to $40. Kmart is having a further 30% sale, so final cost $28. I need to clean out my wardrobe and get more organised.

More food

All I did was eat last week. Busy week catching up with good friends over dinner. We need to make time to do this more often. We went to the new rouse hill shopping centre on sat. Really nice though not enough shops. It was nice to walk around outdoor rather than stuck inside under stuffy air con. Tina just had the eye operation. Wish you a speedy recovery 20/20 vision. I was not stalking you. Deepali's first day at her new job. Dont be scared, you will make friends soon. Renu is coming tonight. Cant wait to catch up with you soon. This blog is hard work. Typing this via my phone. I used to like sony phones but now i encourage everyone to go samsung.

Sleepy cat

Hope the cat got a good nights sleep.

Perfect day on the harbour

It is so easy to blog from my phone. Another pic i took with my mobile at the overseas passenger terminal. Caught amongst the crowd in the peak hour train. I'd rather be at the beach then heading to work.

Beautiful day

Testing the blogging from my phone. This photo was taken with my phone at the overseas passenger terminal at the rocks. A perfect day after several days of rain.

Hello World

My first official blog. Never wanted one, never started one as I didn't want the extra work of maintaining. Now I have seen how easy it is to blog from my phone, I might post a few of the interesting things I come across in my day. There is always something happening in Sydney, the crazy people and events happening. My goal is to blog once a month, lets see how I go.
